Rowe has new legal team, to return to court on March 20

Legal proceedings into a rape charge against Member of Parliament for St Michael North West Neil Rowe will continue before the law courts on March 20.

Rowe, who is charged with committing the offence on September 18, 2022, made his second appearance before the Oistins Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.

On this appearance, before Magistrate Deidre McKenna, he was represented by new attorneys Ralph Thorne K.C. and Michael Lashley K.C. along with Sade Harris, Emerald Griffith and Zudie Payne.

In October, when Rowe made his first appearance before the court, he had Roger Forde K.C. and Safiya Moore as his lawyers.

On Tuesday, both Thorne and Lashley made submissions to the court, with Lashley informing the magistrate that he had sent written correspondence to the Commissioner of Police requesting pretrial disclosure in the matter.

Rowe remains on $10 000 bail on a charge that he had sexual intercourse with a woman without her consent or was reckless as to whether she consented on September 18, 2022.
