Update: BCC general workers back on the job

General workers at the Barbados Community College (BCC) are back on the job after staging a brief work stoppage early this morning.

General Secretary of the National Union of Public Workers Richard Greene explained that the workers were upset about outstanding payments and some supervisory issues.

He said following brief discussions with BCC management, the two sides have agreed to address the concerns at a meeting set for next Thursday, March 2.

BCC Principal Annette Alleyne told reporters that there was no breakdown in communication on the issues raised.

She made clear that management is always prepared to discuss any issues raised by staff. anestahenry@barbadostoday.bb
