‘Best of the Best’ recognised at Sandals Prestige Awards and Dinner

Close to 30 staff members at Sandals Barbados were singled out for their stellar contribution to the company over the past year as the hotel held its annual prestige awards and dinner on Friday night.

During the African-themed event, which was attended by Minister of Tourism Ian Gooding-Edghill and Chairman of the Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association (BHTA) Renee Coppin, the workers were encouraged to continue to give of their best.

Welcoming the beautifully dressed staff members and specially invited guests, Managing Director of Sandals Resorts Barbados Carl Beviere said “we are here tonight to honour those outstanding employees who have gone out of their way to make the job that much more enjoyable, and give exceptional service to our guests”.

“Also, we have some nominees who may not be seen in the front line of our massive operation but their roles are crucial to the overall success of Sandals Barbados and Sandals Royal Barbados,” he said.
Between Sandals Barbados and Sandals Royal Barbados, there are more than 1,500 employees.

“It was no easy task selecting those gathered this evening to be recognised as the ‘best of the best’. But what makes tonight more special is that there are no losers here; everyone is a winner and a role model,” said Beviere.

The Sandals Prestige Awards was held under the theme Ubuntu (I am Because We Are): African Kings and Queens Unite.

During the ceremony 29 employees representing 21 different departments, were given special awards across six categories.
