All clear

Police said they have located, identified, checked and neutralised a reportedly suspicious package in a bathroom at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre (LESC).

In a brief update late Wednesday night, police said: “There was no explosion nor was it considered to be an explosive device.”

The package is in police custody for further examination and investigation.

At the height of rush hour traffic, police set up a command centre in the vicinity of the nearby Imart building and all vehicular and pedestrian traffic from the JTC Ramsay (Bussa) Roundabout and the Howells Road junction with Two Mile Hill Road were diverted after lawmen received the report about the suspicious package.

After the LESC and its surroundings were thoroughly checked, the all-clear was given for normal activities to resume. (BPS/BT)
