QEH Executive Chairman Juliette Bynoe-Sutherland to leave post in June

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital has announced the departure of its Executive Chairman.

Below is the full text of the statement:

On June 3rd, 2023, the Board of Directors, management, and staff of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital will bid a sad farewell to Executive Chairman, Juliette Bynoe- Sutherland, G.A.

Bynoe-Sutherland, who joined the hospital on December 18th, 2019, led the institution’s national response to the COVID-19 pandemic, with outstanding results, even as she and her management team successfully executed major infrastructural and programmatic changes as part of a service-transformation initiative.

She will be leaving to pursue another professional opportunity.

The departure of the Executive Chairman will see a return to the separation of the role of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. The requirements to facilitate these changes are being addressed by the Ministry of Health and Wellness.

The Board is sufficiently satisfied that having strengthened the management layer, the capacity of QEH is sufficiently expanded that the hospital can return to the traditional governance model.

Recruitment of a new CEO will be launched locally and internationally on April 16th 2022.
