Young people shying away from agriculture- new study

 

On this World Environment Day, The Caribbean Youth Environment Network (CYEN) wants to see more resources being pumped into teaching young people the benefits of pursuing jobs in the agricultural sector.

CYEN’s local Coordinator Shannon Weekes told reporters at a news conference this morning to mark World Environment Day, that a recent survey conducted by the organization among young people revealed that many are still not interested in working in agriculture due to the high level of stigma associated with the sector.

World Environment Day is being celebrated under the theme #BeatPlasticPollution, Ecosystem Restoration. (SB)
