Barbados Consumer Empowerment Network announces new Board

       Following a meeting of June 12th, 2023, the Barbados Consumer Empowerment Network (BCEN) pronounced “b-cene” is pleased to announce the appointment of the members of its Board. The duly constituted Board comprises ten Board members who have a deep understanding and appreciation for consumerism and all matters related to consumer affairs in Barbados and across the region.

Official Board members are Bishop Dr. Mark S. Harewood – Chairman, Mr Milton Pierce – Deputy Chairman, Ms. Maureen Holder – Founder/Executive Director, Ms. Jean Chase Sealy – Accounts/Treasurer, Ms. Shernell Cole – Board Secretary, Ms. Leah Howell – Communications and Social Media Specialist, Mr. Ambrose Carter, Ms. Lynette Eastmond, Mr Mitchinson H. Beckles, and Bishop Joseph Atherley.

Chairman Mark S. Harewood, who is an educator and church leader, promises to serve in the best interest of all consumers on the basis of fairness and equity. Newest elected member Joseph Atherley makes a commitment to serve Barbadians, advocating for consumer rights and representation.

All Board members have wide and varied skills and experiences which they intend to bring to bear on consumer issues in Barbados, thereby providing effective representation to the members of BCEN.
