Sir Lloyd's state funeral set for July 14

The state funeral of Sir Lloyd Erskine Sandiford will be held on Friday, July 14 at the St Peter Parish Church at 1.30 p.m.

The interment will be held at the St James Cemetery.

Minister of Labour Colin Jordan, who has responsibility for arranging the proceedings, made the announcement moments ago at Government Headquarters.

People wishing to pay their respects before the funeral will have two opportunities to do so, as the body of the late former leader will lie in state on Wednesday, July 12 at the Parliament Buildings in the City, and on Thursday, July 13 at the Democratic Labour Party (DLP) headquarters on George Street, Belleville.

Four condolence books are available for signing. These are located at Government Headquarters on Bay Street, the Parliament Buildings, the DLP headquarters and at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre in Two Mile Hill.
