Seniors to tap and go with Trident IDs

Barbadians aged 65 and older will be the first to benefit from the chip and pin technology in the new Trident Identification (ID) cards when the Transport Board launches its cashless system on October 1.

They will be able to ‘Tap and Go’ on the card reader when they enter any bus operated by the Transport Board, to ride free of charge.

Seniors who did not activate the chip and pin technology when they collected their cards, will now be required to pin the IDs.

Anyone needing to pin their card can do so at the Electoral and Boundaries Commission’s office in Warrens Tower 2, from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Pinning stations will also be set up at the Granville Williams Bus Terminal in Fairchild Street, Princess Alice Bus Terminal, Speightstown Bus Terminal, and Weymouth Bus Terminal in Roebuck Street, from September 25 to December 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Saturday.

Pinning will also be done at post offices from September 25 to October 27, on Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.
