Francis stuns King to take lead

Jack Francis recovered from a shaky start to jump to the top of the standings of the Scottish 3-Move Draughts Championship.

Francis, Barbados’ number two player, lost his opening game yesterday, but returned to upset arch rival Ronald Suki King 1-0 in round 4 to end the day in first place on 12 points in the competition which is being played at the Royal British Legion Hall in Stone Haven, Scotland.

Francis also defeated Joe Salone 2-0 in a dominant performance in the third round.

Despite the defeat, King is currently in second position on 11 points after drawing with Shane McCosker in their third round matchup.

The other Barbadian in the field, Kent Layne is not too far behind in fourth position on seven points.
