Scores take part in Walk for the Cure

The Walk for the Cure event, sponsored by CIBC First Caribbean and organised by the Barbados Cancer Society, garnered a significant turnout today, marking the beginning of a month-long Cancer Awareness campaign.

Dr Shirley Jhagroo, medical coordinator at the Barbados Cancer Society, highlighted the significance of supporting these initiatives, citing recent data that revealed an increase in early cancer detection among women and, in certain cases, men.

People from all walks of life, including individuals with disabilities and those seeking a leisurely afternoon walk, united from various parts of Barbados to show their solidarity with the fight against cancer. (RT)
