Met Office monitoring weather system

The Barbados Meteorological Services (BMS) says it is continuing to monitor the progress of a broad area of low pressure located in the central tropical Atlantic that has the potential to develop further.

“Environmental conditions remain conducive for some slow development of the system over the next few days as it moves west through west-northwestward across the Atlantic. There is some uncertainty in the latest model guidance regarding the intensity and track as the system moves near our area over the coming weekend,” it said in a statement on Monday morning.

The BMS has therefore urged to public to continue monitoring its updates over the coming days.
“Mariners that venture far east are advised to closely monitor the progress of this system over the next few days,” it added.

No watches or warnings have been issued for Barbados. (BT)
