Some services at the QEH to be suspended from midday tomorrow

QEH management will meet with junior doctors.

With Barbados under a storm watch as Tropical Storm Tammy approaches, the Queen Elizabeth Hospital has activated its Emergency Management Plan. As part of the plan, the following services will be suspended from midday, Friday October 20th, 2023.

1) Out-patient clinics (including Belleville)
2) Elective surgeries
3) Pharmacy

The Accident and Emergency Department remains open to the public. However, if you have questions about the urgency of your medical condition, please call our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS/Help Desk) at 536-4800 using regular or WhatsApp calls from 9am to 9pm. Our medical team will be able to advise your best course of action.

We at the QEH serve a vulnerable population and management has made these decisions in the best interest of patients, staff and visitors. If the weather does not deteriorate, management will review the suspension of services previously mentioned.

We apologise for any inconvenience, and the QEH will issue periodic updates on our website www.qehconnect.com and @qehconnect on Instagram and Facebook, along with traditional media sources to keep the public informed.
