QEH contains fire in electrical room

Authorities at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital are assessing the impact of a fire that started in the electrical room just after 2 p.m. today.
The hospital’s Communications Specialist Shane Sealy said fire officials quickly contained the blaze.
As a precaution, a few departments near the back entrance of the hospital were evacuated.
Sealy said electricity across the hospital plant has not been affected and patient care has not been compromised.
There is no change to visiting hours and the hospital remains open to care for patients.
