Work starts this weekend on Highway 4, from Constant roundabout to Salters, St George

The Ministry of Transport and Works (MTW) advises road users that Highway 4 from Constant Roundabout to Salters in St. George will be closed tomorrow, Saturday, January 13, and Sunday, January 14, 2024, between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

During this time, MTW’s contractor, C.O. Williams Construction Limited, will mill the 2.5 km road. Milling is the process of removing existing asphalt in preparation for paving. Effective Monday, January 15, to Friday, January 19, paving is scheduled from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., pending weather.

Road users are advised that traffic will be restricted to local access only. Signage and personnel will be in place to alert road users. Drivers who approach Constant Roundabout heading towards Salters main road will be diverted through Constant or Dash Valley. Motorists coming from the Norman Niles Roundabout heading towards Constant will be diverted at Salters.

Work on Highway 4 from Constant Roundabout to Salters, St. George is being done under the recently announced Accelerated Mill and Pave Programme. The full list of roads under this initiative will be released shortly. (PR/MT)
