Anglican Diocese hosts float parade and rally

The Anglican churches in the St Michael Deanery of the Anglican Diocese of Barbados held a float parade and rally on Saturday under the theme “Celebrating the Mysteries of Christ Through the Seasons,” which aimed to highlight the various seasons of the church’s year.

The float parade rolled off at All Souls Church in Bank Hall and followed a route through Bridgetown, passing through most of the districts where churches in the St Michael Deanery are located.

The procession culminated at the Church of Christ The King in Rock Dundo, St Michael.

This marked the second year of the float parade, which is an integral part of the Deanery’s evangelical efforts.

During the Procession of Witness to the Community, Ministry Stops were made at key locations in historic Bridgetown such as Broad Street and Jubilee Gardens, as well as in Warrens.

At these stops, young people showcased liturgical dances and other forms of ministry expression.

The float parade concluded with a brief rally at the Church of Christ The King, featuring musical performances including live music by the St Leonard’s Church Steel Praise Orchestra and the dynamic CTK Boomwhackers.

Additionally, there were presentations of liturgical arts expressions by design teams from twin churches.

The floats were designed to depict the different seasons of the church’s year: Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Easter, and Pentecost.

Each design team, in collaboration with their respective churches and the Deanery, embraced the challenge of creatively expressing a specific season within the Liturgical calendar.
