Local organisation helps youth build confidence through theatre arts classes

A local organisation that offers theatre arts classes for children and teens is on a mission to help them boost their confidence.

Mustardseed Productions Inc began their new term on January 15, with Managing Director Natasha Kawasaki promising a safe space for the youth of Barbados in which they can foster their creativity and build self-esteem.

“We aim to help each Mustardseed kid blossom in full confidence. It is a privilege to be a part of their growth and watch them lead and shine,” Kawasaki said.

The organisation, which has been operating for more than two decades at various schools and studios, including St Gabriel’s School and The St Michael School, continues to offer an array of creative classes catering to children ages four to 16.

Kawasaki said there will be three children’s theatre workshops for ages four to 10 as well as two youth theatre workshops for ages 11 to 16.

“In addition to our regular school term offerings, we will also be hosting Easter and Summer Camps. Our students will enjoy taking part in an end-of-year production as well as various community pop-up showcases,” Kawasaki added.

Classes have commenced but Kawasaki said there are still open spaces available.
