Prosecution to call over 20 witnesses in murder trial

More than 20 witnesses are expected to give evidence for the prosecution in the trial of murder accused Danny Lamar Husbands on Wednesday in Supreme Court No. 5.

Husbands, of Ferniehurst, Black Rock, St Michael, is charged with the September 4, 2020 killing of Oluremi Young of Bagatelle, St Thomas.

The 38-year-old was killed at Oistins Bay Gardens in Christ Church.

A 12-member jury, of seven women and five men, was selected, and Principal State Counsel Olivia Davis delivered her opening statement.

Husbands is represented by Senior Counsel Angella Mitchell-Gittens.

Madam Justice Pamela Beckles is presiding.

The matter continues on Thursday.
