Rough seas along the west coast this weekend – BMS

The Barbados Meteorological Services (BMS) advises sea bathers and other marine users to exercise extreme at beaches, particularly along the west coast this weekend.

A high surf information statement issued by the BMS said the “increase in surf activity is as a result of large northerly swells propagating into our marine area. The surf along the west coast should begin to increase from tonight, Friday 16^th, February 2024 until Monday 19^th, February 2024.”

The BMS advises the public to ensure there is an on-duty lifeguard if venturing into the water and secure objects that can be swept away by the breaking wave activity.
