Scores join family members in search for missing woman

Anyone knowing Parris’ whereabouts is being asked to contact the District ‘B’ Police Station at 437-4311, Police Emergency at 211, Crime Stoppers at 1- 800-TIPS (8477), or any police station.

The family of Sonia Suzette Parris, 58, who has been reported missing since Wednesday night, welcomed support from scores of Barbadians who turned out on Sunday to help with the search.

The search party for the mother who was last seen leaving her place of work — the Wildey location of Chefette Restaurant — started at Chefette Charles Rowe Bridge, in St George.

Barbados TODAY caught up with family members who were searching in and around Small Ridge, Christ Church, just before noon, with Brittany Philips, daughter of Parris, saying the support thus far from Parris’ colleagues at Chefette, and Barbadians on a whole, has been overwhelming.

“The turnout was grand, that was the best way to explain it. We wanted to thank Ryan and the rest of the staff that came together and put together the search party. I want to thank everybody that came to Chefette.

We only covered about two spaces currently, which is South Ridge, and [the area] out by Blackman Gollop School, that is about it for right now. We looking to go out Buckley’s side [next]. We trying to track back and find where she could have gone.”

Anyone knowing Parris’ whereabouts is being asked to contact the District ‘B’ Police Station at 437-4311, Police Emergency at 211, Crime Stoppers at 1- 800-TIPS (8477), or any police station.
