When he appeared before Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on Monday, Ryerson Hazel, a Guyanese national residing at Linden Boulevard, Brooklyn, New York, was remanded to Dodds Prison after pleading guilty to possession, trafficking, importing and intent to supply of 27.55 kilogrammes of cannabis. The drugs were found in a vacuum-sealed package when his suitcase was searched upon arrival in Barbados on April 20. “I wish to apologise.
