Owner Sir David Seale won three races in a day for the second time this season, following up his April 13 triple victories. Sir David watched as his imported sprinter Brenner Pass closed like a rocket to catch early pacesetter Fantastic Francis at the mile marker on Saturday.

Apprentice Rahiem Thorpe had tracked the leader Fantastic Francis with female rider Cadijah Arthur aboard opening Day Light, but was caught by Brenner Pass as morning line favourite Zaeed was closing, but could not catch Brenner Pass in time as the spa sprint champion had to settle for second this time.

Trainer Andrew Nunes was very happy after losing his three-year-old Ashridge last race in the Guineas as she had to be put down after suffering a broken leg.

Zaeed finished second,So Sauve third and Sir Jimmy fourth.Winning time was 105.0.

It was a terrific ride by young Thorpe. Races will continue on June 7, which will start the beginning of the second 2024 season. (KL)
