St Ambrose and Welches Primary Schools closed

Two schools, St Ambrose and Welches Primary were forced to close early today due to environmental conditions.

In a statement, the Ministry of Education explained: “Smoky conditions from a nearby fire prevented St Ambrose Primary in St. Michael from opening this morning, and similar conditions brought an early end to classes at Welches Primary in Thomas.”

The Ministry said it would continue to monitor conditions and advise on the status of the schools as soon as possible
