Shooting victim identified as Dashawn Hinkson, 17

The victim in Friday night’s shooting at Rockhall, St Philip, has been identified as Dashawn Hinkson, 17, police say.

According to police, around 10:41 p.m., Hinkson was liming with friends when they were approached by three men who opened fire. 

Hinkson was struck during the melee. He collapsed and died inside a neighbour’s house where he had gone to seek shelter, police say.

Lawmen say Hinkson, of Rock Hall, St Philip, is the 18th victim of homicide recorded for the year.

Police are continuing their investigation.
