The victim has been identified as Amar O’Brien Douglas of Dash Valley, St George. Police say that around 1 p.m. officers responded to a shooting at Cutting Road, St Michael. They say a group of men were liming on a block area known as ‘Camp Survival’ located near Cutting Road when a motor car drove up and two men alighted and opened fire causing the crowd to scatter. Douglas was hit and fell to the ground, police say. He was transported by a private vehicle to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His death brings to 28 the number of homicides recorded in Barbados for 2024.
