Accused remanded on joint theft charge

Three men who appeared in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court over the weekend have been remanded to prison, one of them for 28 days on a rape charge.

Shakeil Omar Ifill, 27, of No 28 Constant, St George; Kadeem Juron Small, 26, of Rock Hall, St Philip; and Tyrese Ricardo Marshall, 24, of Walkers Valley, St George, appeared before Magistrate Alsion Burke accused of stealing property belonging to Norman Holder on August 30.

No plea was taken from the accused as the offence allegedly occurred in the District ‘E’ jurisdiction. The men were remanded to Dodds until September 11 to appear in the District ‘E’ Holetown Magistrates’ Court.

Small, meanwhile, is separately charged with a single count of rape on May 9, in the District ‘A’ jurisdiction. He could not plead to the indictable charge.

He will make his next appearance before the No. 1 District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on October 4 where the matter has been transferred.
