Man, 73, drowns at Brandons Beach

Police in the Bridgetown Division are conducting investigations into the circumstances surrounding the suspected drowning of an elderly man, whose body was discovered unresponsive about 5:45 a.m on Saturday in the area of Rascal’s Beach Bar at Brandons Beach in St Michael.

Police received a report that a beach goer had pulled a body to shore. Police from the Black Rock Station responded and viewed the lifeless body, which has been identified as Gregory O’brian Mayers, 73, of Carlton, St James. A medical doctor pronounced death while a family member identified the body.
