Man, 64, dies after hit-and-run accident

Police are investigating the death of a 64-year-old man who died after being struck in a hit-and-run accident that occurred in the wee hours of this morning.
Police have identified the deceased as Cedric Beckles of Golden Rock, The Pine, St Michael.
According to police, the accident occurred 150 metres south of the Clyde Walcott roundabout along Waterford Boulevard, St Michael ( Waterford Bottom between the Combermere School and the roundabout on the highway.)
Police said Beckles, a pedestrian, was struck by the vehicle that did not remain on the scene.
Officers were informed about the accident by a telephone call and when they arrived on scene, ambulance personnel who were already on site found no signs of life.
Police are asking anyone with information about the circumstances surrounding the incident to contact the District ‘A’ Police Station at 430 7242 or police emergency at 211, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477.
