Man injured after vehicle crashes into utility pole

A man was rushed to the hospital this afternoon after his vehicle crashed into a utility pole along Haynes Hill, St Michael.

It is reported that about 11:30 a.m., the man, who was driving a dark brown Kia Cerato was heading towards Bridgetown when he lost control of the vehicle. Eyewitnesses reported that the vehicle flipped on impact.

The driver, who was the lone occupant, was assisted out the damaged vehicle by several passersby.

Neal Lennord, one of the good Samaritans who helped the injured man out his vehicle, said he was driving by when he saw the van crash and overturned. He immediately sprung into action to lend assistance.

“I was driving come down the hill and I see the car turn over and I see the pole shaking and I realized the guy was still trapped inside so I spring into action,” Lennord said.

“I wouldn’t want to be in that position myself so I was happy to help.” shannamoore@barbadostoday.bb
