Businessman remanded on murder, foreign currency, drug charges

A St Michael businessman has been remanded to prison until March 31 after appearing before the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on charges of murder, illegal foreign currency dealings, and drug offences.

Reshad Hoyte, of Barkers Road, Haggatt Hall, is accused of murdering Odwin Grannum on November 9, 2022.

On that same day, he allegedly offered US$85 505 (equivalent to BDS$169 239.90), although he was not an authorised dealer of foreign currency.

Hoyte also faces charges of unlawful possession, possession with intent to supply, and trafficking of cannabis on February 22 this year.

As the offences are indictable, he was not required to enter a plea to either of them.
