Public invited to weigh in on minimum wage proposal

The Ministry of Labour, Social Security and Third Sector is inviting public feedback on the proposed Minimum Wage Order, which aims to establish both a national and sectoral minimum wage in Barbados, effective June 1, 2025.

 

The deadline for the submission of any objections or suggestions is May 27, 2025.

 

Objections should be forwarded to the Minister of Labour, Social Security and Third Sector via email at clo@labour.gov.bb and mrsu@labour.gov.bb.​

 

According to Section 7(3) of the Minimum Wage Act, objections must include:​

  • The grounds for the objection;
  • The nature of the individual’s interest in the matter; and
  • Any proposed additions or amendments to the order.​
