Guyana Regional Child’s family continues plea for justice Barbados Today26/04/20250589 views Outraged over the death of 11-year-old Adrianna Younge, residents of Region 3 today protested the Leonora Police Station, demanding the removal of the Divisional Commander, Khalid Mandall. Younge’s body was pulled from the pool of the Double Day Hotel on Thursday morning, a day after she was reported missing and the Police initially claimed that she left the hotel in a car. That claim by the Police turned out to be false. During the protest, the dead girl’s mother, Amita Simon, stood at the front of the picket line and cried out for justice. “No justice, no peace! Cold blooded murderer! Who must go? Mandall!” were among the many chants that filled the air as the angry residents protested the Leonora Police Station. The protesters accused the Guyana Police Force of attempting to cover up the girl’s death and the circumstances surrounding her death. In tears, the grieving mother told reporters that hours after her daughter went missing, the Police Force refused to act. “Smith is the one that put my child in that pool. He put my child there and Anil was distracting me all the time. And the commander knew they had my daughter there, and telling me I must go home, they got to go, they got to go,” the grieving mother said as she broke down in tears. With the Guyana Police Force offering no information to the family on the investigations, new questions are being raised. Questions to the Guyana Police Force on the issue from the media have also gone unanswered. (News Source Guyana)
