Sagicor executive is new BCCI president

The Barbados Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) has appointed Paul Inniss as its new president, succeeding James ‘Jimmy’ Clarke.

Inniss, who is the Executive Vice President and General Manager, Sagicor Life Inc, was elected during the Chamber’s annual general meeting this morning, just ahead of the official launch of its 200th anniversary celebrations.

The new president shared that he brings to the role a commitment to strengthening the Chamber’s engagement with its members and positioning the BCCI as a catalyst for business innovation and national development.

He has pledged to focus on improving the ease of doing business in Barbados, encouraging both public and private stakeholders to embrace a culture of facilitation, responsiveness, and national pride.

Inniss’ appointment coincides with a year-long slate of activities planned to commemorate the Chamber’s bicentenary under the theme Collaborate. Advocate. Innovate, including a schools outreach programme, health fair, and gala awards dinner.
