Update: Road fatality victim named by police

Shawn O’Brien Dorant-Knight, 48, of Seclusion Road, Black Rock, St Michael, has been identified as the victim of Saturday night’s fatal road incident.

Police say Dorant-Knight was a patron of Waves Bar and Restaurant, located off the Mighty Grynner Highway, when the driver of a motor lorry, which was travelling towards the Frank Worrell Roundabout, lost control at around 11:55 pm.

The vehicle veered off the road and crashed into the business place. Dorant-Knight died at the scene, while five other patrons were injured.

The injured individuals were transported by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where they were treated and later discharged.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact Black Rock Police Station on 417 7500 or 417 7501. (PR/BT)
