Accused to face court on $300k robbery, gun and ammo charges

A 30-year-old man is expected to appear in a Bridgetown court on Tuesday in connection with the robbery of more than $300 000 from several businesses, along with a firearm and nearly a dozen rounds of ammunition.

Shaquille O’Neal Orlando Cumberbatch, of King William Street, St Michael, has been charged with robbing John Merritt and Rache Oliver of $98 941.60 belonging to Thanise Investments, as well as a firearm valued at $2 300 and eleven rounds of ammunition worth $33, property of Merritt.

He is also charged with robbing D.K.L.O Enterprises Incorporated of $97 292.23; Kairre Maycock & Company Limited of $90 366.38; and Leomay Incorporated of $34 721.22 — bringing the total amount stolen to $321 321.43.

Cumberbatch is scheduled to appear in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court to answer the charges. (TBPS/BT)
