Charity donates to Class Four students

The St Michael Centre for Faith & Action (SMCFA) recently donated Bibles to Class Four students at Good Shepherd Primary School and George Lamming Primary School.

 

Each year, the donation is among the activities of the Anglican Church to mark Faith and Action Week, a week dedicated to reminding Anglicans and the general public to renew their focus on the Christian principles.

 

Although this year the donation took place after Faith and Action Week, which is recognised in June each year, it was felt that the timing remained ideal.

 

“We still wanted to achieve our objective which was to provide students with their own Bibles so that as they journey through life, they can do so with God’s guidance through His Word,” said Chairman and trustee of SMCFA and Dean of The St Michael Cathedral, The Very Reverend Dr Jeffrey Gibson.

 

The SMCFA, which is a charity of The St Michael Cathedral, believes that the Contemporary English Version Bible, specifically produced for Caribbean secondary schools, would help the students as they prepare to leave primary school and transition into secondary school. The Bibles were presented as part of the students’ graduation packages.

 

“We hope these Bibles will inspire and guide the graduates as they continue their journey, serving as a valuable resource as they navigate future challenges. We pray that students develop a relationship with God through daily prayer, reading His Word in the Holy Bible and communing with one another in the church,” Reverend Gibson added.
