Wuk-up on police with caution

Police Commissioner Richard Boyce. (HG)

If you’re planning to throw a little waistline on a uniform this Kadooment or Foreday Mornin’, Commissioner of Police Richard Boyce says the police are not about to kill your vibe.

Speaking ahead of the final Crop Over events, Boyce was asked what advice he had for officers who might find themselves the target of some gyrating from revellers.

“It is a person’s own preference. Every person would have their own thoughts on it. Where I am concerned, it is normally accommodated because it is a time that persons want to enjoy themselves and for some persons, it is a way of getting their favourite picture on Kadooment Day.

“So, we would not push back,” Boyce assured, “but we know how far to go. It is when persons want to go over and beyond, then that is where it becomes a concern for us. But so far, no big concern for us.”
