Police motorcyclist injured in St Peter crash

A police motorcyclist is receiving medical treatment at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital following a two-vehicle collision in St Peter on Sunday evening.

The accident occurred around 6:13 p.m. along the K.N.R. Husbands Highway, at its junction with Farm Road, and involved a motorcar.

According to police, the motorcyclist was travelling towards Mullins, while the motorcar was heading from Mullins towards Farm Road when the collision occurred.

Reports indicate that the motorcycle caught fire following the collision. However, there has been no official word on the extent of the officer’s injuries.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the accident to contact the District E Police Station at 419-1730 or 419-1731.
