BLA rolls out online services, boosts staff to improve service

Treca McCarthy-Broomes

The Barbados Licensing Authority (BLA) is stepping up its service delivery by hiring more testing officers and launching a suite of new online services for the public.

Chief Licensing Officer Treca McCarthy-Broomes announced that, effective Friday, members of the public can now pay and schedule appointments for regulation exams, register and schedule appointments for new PSV examinations, pay and schedule driving exams, renew learners’ permits, and pay for new or renewed driver’s licences — all online.

McCarthy-Broomes said the Authority is also moving to address the staff shortage in the driving test section, with the recruitment of additional testing officers expected to be completed within a few months.
