Chief Justice, Attorney General to new attorneys: Use your legal judgement, not AI

Some 34 new attorneys-at-law were admitted to the bar on Friday morning with strong warnings from Attorney General Dale Marshall and Chief Justice Leslie Haynes not to anchor the defence of their clients’ cases on artificial intelligence (AI).

Speaking during a special sitting of the bench in the Number 1 Supreme Court, both leaders reminded the lawyers that AI was just a tool and must not be allowed to take the place of their own legal judgment, assessment of the facts of the cases and established case law.
