What began as an evening of celebration at The University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, took an unexpected turn on Saturday when heavy showers interrupted the evening graduation ceremony.

Midway through the presentation of awards for higher degrees and postgraduate certificates, rain began pouring into the tented area, soaking several sections of the venue and forcing organisers to pause the proceedings.

Undeterred, university officials swiftly relocated the event to the Roy Marshall Complex, where the conferral of the remaining awards was safely completed, ensuring that the night ended on a triumphant note despite the downpour. (DT)
