Highway murder accused remanded

A 21-year-old murder accused has been remanded after appearing in the No. 1 District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.

Jabari Rashawn Waterman, of St Barnabas Road, St Michael, is charged with the slaying of Shaquon Chandler-Wray, 20, a week ago on Monday. He is also accused of using a firearm while committing the indictable offence.

Waterman, who is represented by attorney Damien Sands, could not plead to the indictable charges before Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes. He was remanded to Dodds until November 25.

Chandler-Wray died from his injuries at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital after being shot multiple times on the ABC Highway at the St Barnabas pedestrian crossing.
