Man killed in Weston shooting identified

Police have identified the man who was shot and killed during a confrontation in Weston, St James, over the weekend.He is 26-year-old Doniko Avery Gaskin of The Garden, St James.According to reports, the incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 8, when three masked, armed men approached a licensed firearm holder as he was about to leave a business establishment. Police say the man was confronted and fired upon.He reportedly drew his licensed firearm and returned fire, injuring two of the assailants.Gaskin died at the scene, while another injured man was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment.Investigations are continuing, and police are asking anyone with information to contact the Holetown Police Station at 419-1700, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIPS (8477), or Police Emergency at 211.
