Burst main forces BCC closure

Burst main along Howell's Road, St Michael. (SM)

The Barbados Community College’s Eyrie Campus closed from early on Monday after a ruptured Barbados Water Authority main along Howell’s Road, St Michael left surrounding districts, including the campus, without water.

In a statement issued a short while ago, the college said the decision to close the campus at 10:15 a.m. was taken in the interest of the health and safety of students and staff, with both daytime and evening classes moved online via its Trident Learning portal and Microsoft Teams.

BWA crews have been deployed to carry out repairs.

The institution is expected to resume normal operations on Tuesday.
