Barbados to issue first embroidered stamp on December 8

The Barbados Postal Service (BPS) will release its first-ever embroidered postage stamp on Monday, December 8, featuring a dove, the universal symbol of peace and unity.

The stamp is part of an international collaboration involving several postal administrations, including the Universal Postal Union, the United Nations, and Austrian embroidery manufacturer Hämmerle & Vogel.

It will be issued in one denomination of $2.20, with a First-Day Cover priced at $2.95.

Official First-Day Covers can be purchased or ordered from the Philatelic Bureau at the General Post Office, Cheapside, Bridgetown, Monday to Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:15 p.m.
