Nanton pleads guilty to cannabis charges, granted $10,000 bail

Twenty-two-year-old Cherisse Romona Nanton of Bournes Land, Silver Sands, Christ Church and Baxters Road, St Michael has pleaded guilty to multiple cannabis-related offences in the District ‘B’ Magistrates’ Court.

Nanton, who was charged by the Barbados Police Service Narcotics Unit for offences committed on December 6, appeared before Magistrate Douglas Frederick on Monday.

She was charged with:

  • Possession of cannabis
  • Trafficking of cannabis
  • Intent to supply cannabis
  • Importation of cannabis

Police said the suspected cannabis seized weighed 4.7 kilograms, with an estimated street value of $37,600.

Nanton was granted $10,000 bail with one surety and is scheduled to return to court on Thursday, December 11, 2025.
