22-year-old to answer to robbery, deception charges today in court

A  22-year-old St Michael man is expected to answer to multiple robbery and deception charges when he appears in the District ‘A’ Criminal Court today.

Police said Akeel Shaquan Hamblin of Upper Fordes Road, Clapham, was arrested and formally charged by the Barbados Police Service’s Major Crime Unit in connection with two robberies and a case of criminal deception.

Hamblin is accused of robbing Elias Jackman on November 17 and Zaria Archer on November 27, and of committing criminal deception against Archer on November 28.

The total value of the stolen property is estimated at $86 970.

He is scheduled to appear before the court today, Monday, December 15.
