20-year-old out on bail after $68,000 car theft charge

A 20-year-old man has been granted bail after being charged in connection with the theft of a motor car valued at $68,000.

Makai Chrishon James, of Pegwell Boggs, Christ Church, had been charged with the theft of a motor car belonging to Rico Depeiza on December 5, 2024.

The accused appeared before Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes in the District ‘A’ Criminal Court No. 1 on Saturday but was not required to plead to the indictable offence. Bail was granted in the sum of $8,000.

The matter has been transferred to the District ‘A’ Criminal Court No. 2 and is scheduled to be heard on January 14, 2026. (PR)
