Collision on Lancaster Bridge claims woman’s life, driver injured

Investigations are underway into a road fatality that occurred along Lancaster Bridge, St James, on Christmas Eve, claiming the life of 24-year-old Natalia James of Deacons Farm, St Michael.

Police say the incident occurred around 10:15 p.m. on Wednesday, December 24.

Preliminary reports, according to police, indicate that a vehicle was travelling north when the driver lost control and collided with a retaining barrier.

Emergency medical personnel responded and examined both occupants at the scene. The passenger was found unresponsive, and a medical doctor later pronounced her dead. James was subsequently identified by a relative.

The driver was transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for urgent treatment.

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or has information that could assist with the investigation to contact the Holetown Police Station at 419-1700 or 419-1701.
