Flash-flood watch discontinued

The Barbados Meteorological Services (BMS) has discontinued the flash-flood watch for Barbados following a reduction in rainfall activity.

The watch was lifted Monday evening after pockets of moderate to heavy showers produced about an inch of rain in some areas earlier in the day. While light to moderate showers are still expected overnight, forecasters say rainfall accumulations are likely to ease.

A gradual improvement in weather conditions is expected on Tuesday, December 30. However, the BMS cautioned that the alert level remains at yellow, signalling the possibility of occasional shower activity.

The flash-flood watch was officially discontinued at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Residents are encouraged to continue monitoring official forecasts and advisories for updates.
